Tara came to us in Autumn 2010 with plans for a substantial extension and kitchen refurbishment. She said the kitchen is where her family spend the majority of their time and she wanted it to be special.
With the budget Tara had given us to work with, we were able to really think outside the box. So first, we brought in our regular carpenter Kevin to drop the ceilings and create two large lighting coffers and bring out one of the walls, allowing us space to recess the Samsung 50-inch television and Monitor audio 5.1 speaker system. This integrated the technology into the room seamlessly.
To allow ease of use, we did away with all the remote controls and installed a Phillips Pronto TSU9600 touchscreen multi-remote control. This allowed the user to switch on and set up the whole system at the touch of one button on the display. This handset is Wifi-enabled, allowing us to hide away all the AV equipment out of sight and mind.
Into our new ceiling, we installed a Rako-controlled LED lighting system for ambient light. Into the coffers, we installed a DMX colour change LED lighting strip to cast a glow over the ceiling voids. Low hanging copper pendants provide low level, localised lighting.
I think we can all agree, this is something pretty special!
